(This is from the electronic version of Demogram, which is published by the Lewis County Democratic Central Committee. Lewis H. Zieske, Jr., Editor.)

norbergEthel resident Ken Norberg is carrying the Democrat banner in the Third District race for Lewis County Commissioner. In making his announcement for the office Norberg said: “We need to work hard to clean up drug problems in this country. We need to be visionaries to look ahead to create jobs before others disappear.”

A Lewis County native, Ken was born in Chehalis, graduated from Toledo High School and received his AA degree from Centralia College. His work experience includes construction, logging and road construction. He retired from the Centralia coal mine as Senior Safety Engineer. He and his wife of 31-years, Joan, own and operate Hair It Is Styling Salon in Toledo.

Ken has served for 17-years on the Toledo School Board and is active in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Toledo. Other activities include Toledo Lions Club where he is a past President, Chehalis Eagles, Lone Yew Grange, board member for Recovery Northwest, Evergreen Safety Council, Winlock/Toledo Masonic Lodge and as a member of the Mining Panel for the Governor’s Safety Conference.

Norberg told the Demogram, “As a conservative Democrat, I don’t believe partisan politics should be an issue for a County Commissioner. Commissioners should be representing the entire citizenry of the county as far as the law allows. Our government should definitely be of the people, for the people and by the people. This is why I would work to get meetings conducted throughout the county so that the rural areas could be represented.”

Ken Norberg pledges to work hard to keep senior citizens open and operating throughout the county and to work to get our timber dollars back into our county.
