Lewis County Democratic Central Committee.
Lewis H. Zieske, Jr., Editor.)
In
his primary race for County Commissioner, Ken Norberg received 44.29%
of the votes. With Democrats coming out in greater numbers for the General
Election, Norberg can topple incumbent Dennis Hadaller. Norberg provided
the following copy for publication in the Demogram.
KEN NORBERG
WILL:
- Work
to make county government more user-friendly
- Work
with county departments on long-term goals
- Work
with the Building Department on streamlining the permit process
- Get
back to individuals promptly concerning their issues
- Work
on government accountability
- Work
on continued improvement of employee relations
- Work
on reducing government waste
- Work
to have departments work as team players with the taxpayers in the county
- Work
hard to prevent reductions in senior services
- Be
alert for any corruption and work to prevent it
- Work
to get family wage jobs in the county
- Resolve
issues with round-table discussions
- Poll
the locals on possible corrections to problems arising in their areas
before hiring consultants and paying out large consulting fees (i.e.
flood prevention/control)
- Seek
reliable warning systems for communities down river from dams.
I
believe government should be trusted and honest. Over my lifetime this is
getting harder to do. Our government should not be self-serving. It should
be serving the taxpayers who pay its wages. When a decision is made in county
government, we must always ask, "Is this in the best interest of the county
and its taxpayers?"
